Detailed Job Description
Common Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Cleaning and sanitizing: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing floors, dusting surfaces, cleaning windows, mirrors and glass surfaces; disinfecting high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and emptying trash bins and replacing liners.
· Restroom maintenance: cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks and countertops; restocking paper towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers and other restroom supplies.
· Surface cleaning: wiping down and disinfecting surfaces in common areas such as offices, and conference room, and lunchroom.
· Kitchenette and lunchroom cleaning: cleaning appliances, countertops, sinks, and cabinets; restocking of supplies such as paper towels, disposing of food waste, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas.
· Floor care: sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets / rugs, periodically steam cleaning carpets, buffing / waxing floors to maintain their shine and cleanliness.
· Trash management: collecting and disposing of trash and recyclable materials; sorting recyclables appropriately; managing waste according to local regulations (*work closely with Purchasing Manager on current regulations*)
· Cleaning equipment maintenance: maintaining and cleaning janitorial tools and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, dusters, etc. reporting and equipment issues or malfunctions to Maintenance Supervisor.
· Restocking supplies: monitoring and restocking cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other necessary items such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap and trash bags.
· Reporting maintenance issues: identifying and reporting any maintenance or repair needs such as leaking faucets, broken fixtures or damaged infrastructure to the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Outside tasks: cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk, applying salt at entrances, as needed.
· · May operate powered industrial truck as needed.
